Early Morning Gang Raid

So I get home from work, tired and my feet are killing me. I just took 3 buses and I get home, walk into my kitchen...turn on the TV to Breakfast Television because I think that chick is smoking hot. Anyways, what do I see?

Now, let's be honest. A lot of us felt a little glad that the provincial government is taking measures in making us feel secure. But are we TRULY secure?

I wrote this note in an effort to show some of you the hypocrisies that the government along with the media feed to us on a daily basis. Today at 10:30, there will be a hearing about the raid in which the Chief of Police will address everyone and give us information about the raid. But I can already tell you exactly what he's going say...the same thing he's said the last few times we've had raids such as this.

He will tell us that over 200 police officers from many different divisions collaborated with each other, he will tell us that over 100 suspects were detained...he will tell us that over 40 percent were minors...and that many charges were laid including possession of firearms, narcotics, and other things as well. I'm not a paralegal so I can't really tell you the specific terms.

HOWEVER...what he will FAIL to mention...is that the government is doing SHIT...to PREVENT MORE kids from being arrested. He won't tell you that our border policies are not being re-written. He won't tell you that many trucks from the U.S. to Canada are not being checked for narcotics or weapons. He won't tell you that our docks aren't being thoroughly inspected. He won't tell you that after school programs are being put in place to keep kids in the right atmospheres...he won't tell you money is being spent on building community centers...or creating after school groups to keep kids away from bad things.

He will not tell you ANY of that. Because it's MUCH MORE convenient for HIM...and his political friends...to appear on television...filling you with lies...about how SAFER the city will be with a raid every few months. When in reality...it's not. These kids...are being USED as political propaganda by the provincial government. They are being USED as tools to support their political attributes.

I for one am sick of this. Aren't you?

How many more young kids must die by the hands of OTHER young kids...before the government finally realizes that it's a better idea to PREVENT the problem instead of just putting a band-aid on it?
